Watch Out For the Plurals!

Watch out for the plurals of words ending in the vowel y!

Most of these plurals are made by adding -es to the word, in which case the final vowel y becomes the consonant y. This happens, for example, with the words bueyes(oxen) which comes from buey(ox) and convoyes(convoys) which comes from convoy(convoy).

However, it's important to note that there are some Spanish words whose plural is made by adding an -s. In this case, the final y becomes the vowel i. One example is the plural noun espráis(sprays) from espray(spray).
